REVOLVE RENOVATE ALEXANDRA COURT GARDEN

Picture
Youth volunteering organisation reVOLve were in action again recently, as they took part in a tree planting project at Alexandra Court in Atherstone.

A team of enthusiastic volunteers went to help to clear up and renovate the gardens at the block of flats in Mancetter, and were leant a helping hand by some of the residents as well as Zoe from the North Warwickshire Borough Council Development Team.

The previously weary looking borders were transformed with fifty lavender plants, nearly three tons of bark chippings, and a bucket load of elbow grease.

The work made the area surrounding the heart of the estate much more welcoming and attractive, with the difference between the start and finish of the task clear for all to see.

Youth Support Worker Lloyd Miller felt the reVOLve volunteers had made a big impact on the area, he said: “The work we did had a great impact on the visual appearance of the garden.

“Not only did we really benefit the people who live nearby, but we had a great time doing it too!”
